Important Questions (FAQ) Vitascene

Answer:
Due to some limitations of Premiere´s Plugin-Interface please avoid following items:
- Don´t use slow / fast motion effects for clips which needs to be processed by Mercalli.
- If the clip is processed also by other effects, please make sure that Mercalli is always on top of the stack so it´s the first process.
- Don´t use Transitions in videos which needs to be stabilized
-
Answer:
Problem: The Mediaplayer playback of a Mercalli-created videofile is always 4:3 although the original footage was 16:9.
Solution: Mercalli also offer to generate WMV files for export, those generated files also Media Player playback correctly as 16:9 .
Note: It´s obligatory that the video has been identified as 16:9 format video during import in Mercalli.

Answer:
For these editing solutions please always use the 32bit Version of the Mercalli V2 Plugins because these NLEs are 32bit Versions, tough they´re in use on Windows 7 64 Bit systems.
-
Answer:
If the last digit of your serial number of Adorage Volume 10 or 11 or Mercalli V2 is the number zero (0), this may be confused with the letter O (Oh).Please replace the character and the serial number will be accepted.
-
Answer:
Reason:When the option "Full preview quality" (in the "Video and Audio Preferences" settings dialog) is disabled in Pinnacle Studio, the video analysis in Mercalli is carried out at a lower resolution and this affects the quality of the stabilization.Even when the project has been completed in Pinnacle Studio, the quality of the scenes stabilized with Mercalli remains low.
Solution:Select the option "Full preview quality" (in the "Video and Audio Preferences" settings dialog) before analysing your video scene in the Mercalli timeline.
If you have already analysed the video scene with Mercalli, with the option "Full preview quality" disabled in Pinnacle Studio, follow these steps: Remove Mercalli from the timeline in your video, select the option "Full preview quality" in the "Video and Audio Preferences" settings dialog, and drag Mercalli onto the video scene again. Now analyse the video once more with Mercalli.

Answer:
Dear User of Adorage 12,
please take into consideration the following installation tips:
There is a Basic Version Adorage 12, which should be installed first. After doing so, check which editing software (NLE) you are using.
- If you are using a 32bit editing software, install the 32bit-Plugin Service Package (included in the delivery).
Note:The selection of the Plugin does not depend on the Windows-version you are using.
2. If you are using a 64bit editing software (eg. Premiere CS5, Sony Vegas 64bit 9/10 Pro), install the 64bit Plugin Service Package (included in the delivery).
The current Adorage 12 or the Service Packages install new Plugins, i.e. the existing Adorage-Plugin will be refreshed.
Notes for the use of Adorage 12 in Pinnacle Studio:
Please install the basic version of Adorage 12 first, then the new volume 12 will be included into the list of the opened Adorage (directly in Studio). Immediately after doing so, you can use all the Adorage effects and transitions. In case that previously installed earlier Adorage volumes (1-11) are already unlocked, the new Volume 12 will be activated. There is no need of any further unlocking on the part of Pinnacle/Avid.
Further recommendations:
1. New installation of Adorage Volumes:
If you install your Adorage Volumes 1-12 newly we recommend to first uninstall Adorage completely. Then (re-)install your Volumes in order. Install the respective Service Package always at the end – either the 32bit- or the 64bit Service Package (or the two of them), depending on the editing software you are using.
2. The use of the 64bit Service Package:
The 64bit Service Package will be installed only if you are using a 64bit editing software (currently in Premiere CS5 and Vegas 9/10 Pro).
3. Additional installation of older Adorage Volumes:
If you install older Adorage Volumes in addition to previously installed Volumes you should always install the current Service Package at the end - either the 32bit- or the 64bit Service Package (or the two of them), depending on the editing software you are using.

Answer:
In general terms, it is a Plugin, which is licensed for the current generation of the editing software. This means that the following versions of the editing software probably won’t support the bundled version.
The technical Email-support will also be limited to the bundled product in connection with the editing software.
Furthermore, there is no legal right to claim any feature-update. The user can only claim technical updates that might be necessary due to technical problems, and only for the generation of editing software included in the delivered package.
-
Answer:
The Plugin included in the delivery is only valid for the editing-software to which it is related. Plugins for other editing-software programs are not included and there is no legal right to claim any.
The customer can order an upgrade of a bundled version to a full version at any moment. This would provide him/her with the complete support-service, free updates and all the functions for all the products.

Answer:
You have created a project in the earlier Heroglyph version V2.5 and would like to continue editing the project (using the enhanced Design options) in Heroglyph V4.
In order to do so, just open the "File/Open Project" option in Heroglyph V4. Navigate to the location where you have saved your project and import it. Now you can use the new Design options in your project and save the changes afterwards.
-
Answer:
If you create your own Object presets as TIF-Files in the transparent Background (with Alpha key), you can use them also as an object in the Route project.
-
Answer:
The installed Object Presets from the CreativePack 2 can be used, too. They are available, for instance, in the directory: "C:\Programs\proDAD\Heroglyph-2.5\clipart\cp2\image".
Open the directory and adopt an object of your choice in the previously created route (directly in the preview) in Heroglyph V4 via Drag & Drop. Before doing so, select the Timeline object in the Timeline to make sure that the right object will be replaced.
-
Answer:
Apart from Heroglyph 4 you have also installed Heroglyph 2.6 and some (if not all) Creative Packs 1-5 and you would like to use these versions? Of course you can use the Templates/Project presets from these components in Heroglyph 4 – you can even upgrade them with enhanced Design options….
Import, for instance,Project presets from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\proDAD\Heroglyph-2.5\tl\model" directory in Heroglyph V4 via the “File/Open project" option.
You will find various Project presets in the subfolders cp2, cp3, cp4 und cp5.
Now open the Settings dialog via File/Settings
Here you add the path to Cliparts in the Settings/Program/Search Path in Heroglyph V4. This safeguards the correct importation of all the Project Components (e.g. Background images).

Answer:
This problem is the result of errors that are hard to determine. We (proDAD) have no influence on these errors. But we would like to pass on tips from other users which might help you resolve the problem.
First of all, make sure that you are working with the latest Premiere CS-Update, the most recent Vitascene 2.0 64bit-Service, as well as the newest versions of your graphic driver and Directx. If necessary, the latest versions of these elements should be installed.
Then check wether the monitor is correctly connected to the monitor connection ("DVI-D") of your graphic card. Then start Premiere CS and use Vitascene 2.0 as an effect in your clip in the timeline.
Do not select the monitor connection "Display Port".
In case that the crashes continue in spite of using the right monitor connection, please check if your computer is working in the Dual Monitor mode. Disconnect the second monitor by way of trial and restart Vitascene 2.0 in Premiere CS.
